Dr. Benjamin Adams, DC

Sports Chiropractor in Denver, CO

Dr. Adams’ style of chiropractic looks at how your body is or isn’t moving and how he can restore some of that function so you can enjoy doing the things you love. Dr. Adams grew up skiing and snowboarding and after one particular injury that left him not being able to move in the morning, he was introduced to chiropractic at age 11. His cousin was a chiropractor at the time as well and recommended that Ben try it out. He was amazed at how quickly his body recovered after the first treatment. When he got that nice release in his lower back, he stood up off of the table in amazement.

Fast forward to 2015, when Ben attended chiropractic school at Palmer West in San Jose and met Dr. Christopher Dorsa. Palmer West is an evidence based school, meaning they did a lot of research to see what works and what doesn’t. During his time here he was exposed to a variety of techniques. One in particular was the Nasal Release Technique. This technique started around 1940 by an osteopathic doctor and was made to help adjust the bones of the face to increase the diameter of the nasal passageway. The inflation adjusts the sutures of the skull, especially the sphenoid, and releases pressure in the cranial sutures to relieve forces in the skull. He has used this technique on himself for post concussive symptoms and also on patients as an alternative to nasal surgery. This technique is also beneficial for deviated septum, chronic headaches, allergies, sinusitis, snoring and TMJ issues.

Prior to joining Dorsa Chiropractic, Ben worked in California for a sports chiropractor that focused on golf injuries. That is where he obtained his TPI certification as a medical professional. The golf swing is a highly studied movement pattern that is very complex and encompasses every joint in the body during a swing. At Pro Performance, we use a screening tool for our golfers that was designed by the Titleist Performance Institute or TPI. These exams help to break down each joint that is used during the golf swing and determine movement restrictions or compensation patterns that can be corrected with chiropractic and exercise therapies. Our golfers typically see a reduction in pain throughout the week after participating in this program and also drop a few strokes on the course.

Ben’s treatment style ultimately boils down to see how your body is moving & functioning and how we can increase that function with hands on therapies such as the Graston technique, ART, dry needling, kinesio taping and of course chiropractic treatment.
